Studly Duds
Mr. Douglas turned 9 this month. We celebrate odd numbered birthdays with family fun. Douglas asked for a strawberry and chocolate layered cake. It was interesting. We had pizza and rootbeer and played some games. He got some new clothes and a really cool new bike. He was too busy speeding around on it for me to get a picture.
Douglas has been busy playing soccer for the past few months. It was his first time playing on a soccer team. He actually did pretty well- especially on defense. He didn't let anybody get past him. He was lucky to have an awesome coach. His coach picks a player of the game and they get to be first in line for treats and captain at the next game. Coach noticed how hard Douglas was playing one game and praised him up and down about being like a "dog chasing a bone out there". Douglas had a really positive experience and will probably play soccer again.
We had a few cold games. The one pictured below actually was on a snowy day. Here is Douglas with full sweats on going after the ball. He ran hard the whole game. Love how tough he was for soccer!

Another big event for Douglas this month was earning his Bear badge for scouts. He loves scouting. The last thing we had to pass off was the safety portion of earning the Bear. He helped me label all the chemicals with poison signs and move them to a locked cabinet out of Kira's reach. Thanks for keeping little sister safe, Bear Scout!
Douglas is one busy kid, and keeps us all on our toes with his energy and stubborn nature. We're proud of his accomplishments this month. He's excited to finish up 3rd grade and move on to a Summer break. Only a few more weeks!
