Spring (supposedly) Break

The big debate insued. We knew we wanted to go away somewhere for Spring Break... but where? We narrowed it down to visiting Texas or going to our favorite little camping trip area in Snow Canyon. After a few uninspiring traveling experiences with the toddler, we decided to go for the closer destination. It was good weather....

HALF of the time. The other half was a bit miserable. We even had SNOW in Snow Canyon (which is unusual- it's actually named after a man with the last name of Snow and isn't indicative of the climate). We actually hit St. George on the wettest day and went and saw the movie, "Hop". We also did some sight-seeing and the boys were excited to go see an old jail house.

Troy was a trooper to cook in the rain/snow mix. His sacrifice was appreciated. We enjoyed some nice, warm blueberry pancakes!
This spot in Snow Canyon has some petroglyphs (just on the rock above the kids).

We took a day to visit Zion National Park. It was a little rainy, but still beautiful. Here is a picture by the Weeping Rock.

Hiking break in Snow Canyon. TJ thinks he's awesome for rabbit-earing his brother.

Troy taking a break from packing around Kira. It's probably the last time we'll be able to pack her around in that toddler pack. She is getting heavy! I tried it for awhile and only lasted about a mile.

We enjoyed the Three-Ponds hike in Snow Canyon. Most of this hike is through a dry, sandy river bed. Fun to do with bare feet, but it really works the legs!

Kira hanging out near the campsite. She loves her new puddle boots from Grandma! She is a great camper.

The boys made some mud balls with some pails of water and a great batch of red sand. When the mud balls dried, they shaped them into various shapes.
We were glad for the showers at the campground. We were good at getting dirty! We packed up in snowy/rainy weather, and arrived home to a few inches of our own (had to dry out the camp stuff in the garage). It was nice to have a taste of Spring, we just want more of the good sunny stuff.

Utah weather in April...very unpredictable. Looks like you all didn't let the weather ruin a good time!
