Let the Summer Games Begin

School's out for summer!

School's out for evah!

Ok, not really "evah", but it's officially started.... Summer Break 09. What adventures lie ahead for the LaMonts this summer? A few out-of-town trips are planned, baseball games, and playing with the kiddos. Should be good stuff.

So far, we've had a bit of hampering on this summer vacation. Like me for instance. I can't seem to finish the final touches on cleaning out my classroom. I'll have to revisit a few times. I should probably be in there today to clean off that one table and all, but ya know. I'm taking a few days off. Also, I had a math workshop today. Really, why does our district always have training two days after school lets out. It's really hard to pay attention. I saw 3 teachers fall asleep during the presentations. Not that I'm any better. I did a lot of foot tapping and daydreaming myself. So, math workshop... CHECK. Now I can start enjoying the summer.

Only... wassup with the rain? It is forcasted to rain all week. Really? Do you know what rain does to my plans to keep the boys actively engaged in outdoor activities? Bummer for sure. I've enrolled the boys in summer baseball. Ok- that sounded very teacherlike. I've "SIGNED UP" the boys for summer ball, and they've played a few games. They love it. I love it. They were bummed that the game was rained out today. I let them play at the park for a little while between earthly showers. They kept their gloves on with a glimmer of hope that the game may still be had.

Kira has started walking everywhere. She is also really into her stuffed monkey. She drags him everywhere and makes the cutest monkey sound. She doesn't say monkey, but she makes the sound when she wants him. She also has learned the sign for "More". She does this WAY too often as she loves food. I'm looking forward to some serious toddler & mommy time this summer. I'll try to add some video of her walking.

Kira and monkey^

Troy and I are also playing on a Qwest softball team this summer. We play each Friday and are so far undefeated. Which doesn't say much since we've only played twice. I think it's pretty fun. It's a great thing for Troy and I to do together just for us.

I'll write more later. I'd better get back to enjoying some good summer times. After cleaning the bathroom, that is.

The baby finally walks...

Oh my goodness, Melinda, could Kira be any more of a cutie?!?!?! I love the picture with her monkey. It was also fun seeing her walk!

It was great sitting with you at the training...but I have to agree that it was awfully hard to sit there all day.

Yay for Summer!!! Can't believe it's already here. As for the cooler weather, I am reveling in it. Too soon will it get too hot and I will have to be spending most of my time at the pool, drat.

Are you coming to the reunion? I will be there. I know, pull yourself up off the floor.
