Princess Party

My neice had her 1st birthday last week. After a week full of basketball and school, Kira and I were ready to celebrate with a girly weekend. We took off Saturday morning and headed down to Amber's house for Malleya's Princess Party. The driving adventure did not go as pleasant as expected. It started with some impatience every 5 minutes, "Mommy, Leela's Party!". I had to create a Dora-like plan to help her see that we were getting closer. It went something like this.... "Ogden, Salt Lake, Malleya'a Party" and we sang it in Dora fashion with a little, "Come on Vaminos, everybody let's go. Come on let's get to it, I know that we can do it! Where are we going? *clap clap clap* MALLEYA'S PARTY!"etc.
Between the song and bag of story books and toys, Kira seemed occupied and content for awhile. Until we hit American Fork. Then she suddenly started fussing about a tummy ache. Then she puked amidst the construction where there was no where to pull over and no exit for 5 miles. Poor Kiki. I gathered it was from car sickness and after a 20 minute clean up in some random parking lot, we proceeded to the party. I was supposed to pick up the suprise princess guest, but due to the pukage delay, I had to call and arrange for a prince to bring her.
We finally arrived just shortly before the lovely princess did. Most of the party guests were thrilled with the princess' arrival, but Kira was a bit more enthralled with "Leela" and followed her everywhere. She kept pulling her by the arm and patting her head. I doubt Malleya appreciated her obsession. Anyway... Princess Belle was awesome and played some fun games with the kids (including a treasure hunt and balloon puppies). Although annoyed that I kept calling her "Kim" for some reason, Princess Belle was a big hit. Thanks for the fun party, Aunt Amber & Princess Belle! Kira with her treasures (necklace & crown) and a beautiful princess.

Kira (again with the constant touching of Malleya), Princess Belle, Birthday Girl Malleya, Tessa and McKaylee (Brady's daughters).
Well, I'd better go get ready for an afternoon of basketball. The boys are having a great time playing Junior Jazz this month. I'll be taking and posting some pictures soon. Happy January!
